This year Pemberton Winterfest returns to One Mile Lake from January 16 – 18. This 3-day annual event is a true celebration of what makes Pemberton so special – a spectacular setting and a vibrant community. This is a chance to kick up your heels and embrace winter in a family-friendly festival with events and entertainment not to miss. Some of this year’s events include pick-up hockey, ice skating, ice fishing, curling, snow painting, and more. In addition, there will be a daily bon fire, music, and food concession, including ‘You Roast’ Hot Dogs & S’Mores.
Are you ready to take the plunge? Slip into your best bathing suite or costume and be ready for a dip in the icy waters of One Mile Like at 12 Noon on Sunday January 18th. Be there or be….warm? Don’t worry, there will be hot chocolate for all those who brave the waters – don’t forget a nice warm towel and dry clothes.
There will be a free screening of an outdoor movie every day of the festival at 6:00 PM. For extra enjoyment, pack a thermos of hot chocolate and throw some popcorn in a bag to enjoy throughout the show. On Friday the movie will be followed by fireworks at 8:00 PM and on Saturday it will be followed by the lighting of the Pemberton Wish Lanterns at 700 PM.
Free shuttles will run every 15 minutes on January 16 & 17 between 4:00 PM and 8:30 PM. The pick-up location for the shuttle is at the Pemberton Valley Lodge and the Pemberton Community Centre.
Parking will be available at the Old Highway Yard behind the Visitor Centre and at the Pemberton Community Centre. The parking lots at One Mile Lake will be closed.
