Another year almost over and, as usual, there is no shortage of things to do in Whistler to celebrate the coming of 2015. Christmas is over but with the Village stroll full of lights and snow dusting the ground, Whistler is buzzing with activity and fun for the entire family.
Need a break or a place to take you kids to run off some energy after the excitement of Christmas? The Whistler Holiday Experience provides a warm, indoor entertainment zone with a mini-putt course, table games, crafts, video games, a bouncy castle, and more. The best part is that parents can sit back and enjoy a coffee or hot coco while their kids entertain themselves. The Whistler Holiday Experience at the Whistler Conference Centre is open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily until January 6th (but is closed on December 31).
On December 30th children between the ages of 5 and 12 can enjoy a night away from their parents. Whistler Kids will provide supervision from 5:30 to 9:00 PM and there will be activities, dinner, snacks, and more. Find out more here.
So, you have finished your day on the mountain but still need something to do before dinner? Every Monday & Wednesday there will be family-friendly entertainment and activities at Whistler Olympic Plaza from 4:30 to 6:30. On December 29th Toni Smith will be on stage and there will be street games, a balloon twister, and a more! Find out more here.
The free outdoor skating rink in Whistler Village is open every day from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Don’t have your own skates? No need to worry. Rentals are available for only $5.
Ring in the new year at this family-friendly evening of entertainment and celebration. You can purchase your ticket to the event here or at Millennium Place, Meadow Park Sports Centre, and the Whistler Visitor Centre. Tickets will give you access to a range of venues with entertainment for all ages, crafts, food, dancing, ice skating, a special kid’s countdown party at 9:00 PM, and more. There will be something for everyone to enjoy.
You can’t celebrate New Year’s without fireworks! The best seats for the fireworks show will be at Skiers Plaza at the base of Whistler, but, as long as you can see Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains you will probably be able to see the show so make sure you don’t miss it!
